Israelis : They Live In Denial. - zion_brother - 04-12-2007 10:06 AM An interesting article written by Avigail Abarbanel (she is a former Israeli and a former Staff Sergeant in the Israeli military. She is a psychotherapist/counselor in private practice in Canberra, Australia and an activist for Palestinian rights) : When an individual, a group or an entire society lives with a dark secret or are in denial about something important in their past, they cannot experience peace. It is simply impossible to live a ‘normal’ or peaceful life on a foundation of lies and secrecy. Denying the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in 1948, trying to not think about the consequences of long years of brutal occupation, and just wishing for it all to go away is no more than a fantasy. Israelis : They Live In Denial. - Phil999 - 04-12-2007 02:23 PM thanks, very good article. The Jews I know here in Switzerland are similar to those described in the article. They are nice people, intelligent, good-hearted, but when it comes to certain questions, they display this denial, this brainwashing, with all their force. It's all the Arab's fault, they say. They don't want (actually they cannot, they're so terribly brainwashed) to see or don't even try to see why there are Arab extremists. They don't want to discuss the evidence of the crimes of the Israeli government. It's very sad and discouraging. I rarely see such strong indoctrination. Therefore, for me, the Israelis and all Jews are the target #1 for information and clarification. When the Jews realize how deep they have been mislead, the world will have at least a chance for peace. Somehow I could easily picture you going at them with a argument resembling an elephant gun.
