Something just donned on me and it's a rather comforting thought.
ConCen's had a fair number of bumps and bruises over the past 3+ years.
(and I don't mean my personal drama....lol)
For the newer folks here, the tracker started of as http://conspiracy.hopto.org,
which was a subdomain of a free subdomain provider. (same idea as dynip)
When the free domain domain provider kicked us off for breaching their p2p
ToS rules, those who were here then all pulled together to keep the new domain alive.
(that's what necessitated conspiracycentral.net.. no regrets) We changed our HOSTS files to
negate the domain name spanking, kept the torrents alive, and have been growing ever since.
Once upon a time we had a copyright holder who compained to PayPal we voilated their copyright
infringement policy, PayPal froze the account, and took about 3 weeks to get it open again. During that
time ConCen still had bills to pay and when asked, people did snail-mail money to keep the site up.
Even then, without PayPal we were still kinda fucked because besides maybe a money order in the mail,
PayPal was the only form of payment that server company took. As it turned out the account was unfrozen
(err thawed out? lol) 4 days before our payment was due. We were that close to being cut off. My point is
that even tho the money thru the mail didn't technically "save us" since we had (if I remember) about $1800
in PayPal, we all pulled together.
There are other examples...
When some clown threatens to sue us for copyright infringement, a simple request on the tracker to email the guy and set him straight does the trick.... his inbox gets flooded. Just ask Ted Anderson of GCN. :laugh:
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you. Lots of webmasters have lots of members, but I think WE have the best community, WE have the most fight and determination when shit hits the fan and WE are not going to be stopped! Why? You guys...you're the best.

ahhh the memories, I remember all that when it went down and did my part in my small way too.
Best around to be certain, the site, the tracker, and most of all the admin/mods/ and last but not least the members! Fighters if there ever were any. Scrappy bunch, and proud to be a part of our little community.;)

I too hope the tracker issue will resolve soon too. I actually shifted to using the tracker for 90% of my downloads, when I used to be heavy into TPB and Demonoid and Isohunt.

YEAH!!! I think the former Stars on the Devils, Langenbrunner, Lukowich and Matvichuck, are going to take it this year.... well at least since Dallas lost.
Back to topic, this is the most objective and realistic place on the net. I guess that would make this the closest place to being out of the Matrix that we can get for now.
