I've got a analogue video camera and want to record some stuff and then run it through Nero to be able to burn it to disc. I've heard about a type of device that you can use but need some more info. Anyone out there had to do this before???

Cheers.

If it's an analogue camera all you need is a video card capable of video capture.
Most likely your camera has 3 RCA jacks out: Yellow for video, Red & White for stereo audio. Plug those cables into a video card.
Then use Nero Vision to capture the video from your camera.
After capture you can use Nero or whatever editor you want to edit.

That should do the trick for you.

You can also pick up a TV tuner card. They're cheaper than video cards if you don't want to drop the cash for a VIVO (video in video out) capable video card.

Here's a link to one.

There's lots of models to choose from this is one of the cheaper at 25$ but I think it will do what you need.

Ouch. $160?
You can just get yourself a video in capable video card for $114 then you can play games too.

You have to know if you have an AGP port or a PCI express if you go the video card route.

There's seriously many many capture cards that can beat that price.

This one looks good you can watch one channel and capture on another at the same time through one coax cable. When you talk about capturing TV a camcorder signal is essentially the same thing that's why tv tuner/capture cards work. The first cheapy I linked doesn't appear to have stereo sound.

This one is made by plextor and looks quite similar to the one psilocybin linked but it's only $39

yeah it's pricey. I took mine from my friends house he never used it and hasn't missed it. The main thing in this process is the prog you input it with. Almost any cheap ass card will input raw video and audio, the prog encodes.

Although my beast does divx on the fly, which is helpful if you want to save time.

Also don't forget some video cameras have a firewire video export port on them.

I got one of these. And it's sweet. More than it sounds like you need though. Great for those of us who like laptops.
