i dont want to complain, this site has been good to me for over 5 years now. But i couldn't help but be surprised when i was banned without notice, against forum rules. for "absolutely shit ratio" I have not broken any rules and there are forum discussions outlaying to other users there is "no ratio policing".

i live in Australia and our upload speeds are across the board very slow for consumers


I would gladly come up with a donation to support you guys, if you can a least have the courtesy of advising when "im not doing good enough" so i can get something done about it. - donating is really the only option for me.

I found this really dehumanizing. i rant and rave about this site all the time amongst my friends and people i know. i distribute material on disc (which alot of people still have to rely on, given no-one else i know can manage a torrent client!)

If this is not agreeable with you Yeti, i have little more i can offer.

Members can be banned at any time without notice or reason given. Most of the time it's obvious why anyway.

There isn't normally, but because of your habit of hitting and running on torrents I was trying to initially seed, I made an exception.

What exactly are your upload and download speeds?

Why do so many others on this site from Australia seem to have no problems seeding?

There never was and never will be an excuse for downloading without seeding, no matter how slow your upload speed is. You could at least try to seed the torrents you download, even for a few hours. You consistently downloaded a torrent, then immediately disconnected from the swarm, taking all that freshly uploaded data with you, forcing me to seed it again.

I don't have the time or the inclination to police everyone's bittorrent habits, but I occasionally watch torrents I upload. If I see someone consistently hitting and running who has a dismal ratio I ban them, unless they have donated a reasonable amount (i.e. more than $5).

I'm glad you like the site. I don't like making people feel dehumanized, but that is exactly how I feel when I see someone constantly taking without even trying to give back - in fact purposely avoiding giving anything back! In the absence of evidence otherwise, how can I not see someone doing that as anything other than a thoroughly selfish prick worthy of nothing but scorn?

Why not seed once in a while, however slowly? If not, then why not donate? At least that way my conscience will not be screaming at me when I see you hit and run...

NOTICE TO HIT AND RUNNERS WITH DISMAL (under 0.1) RATIOS:
This site has no ratio enforcement, but I watch the torrents I upload. If you have a ratio under 0.1 and you consistently download torrents without seeding, stay the hell away from my torrents because if I catch you I'll ban you.

After careful consideration i have decided to leave ConCen.

Although all the points you have made are very valid, i can't get past the concept that i was arbitrarily banned - seemingly for personal reasons .

I cannot tolerate this level of immaturity and selective enforcement to your whims without notice - friendly or otherwise.

I used to comment on the tracker way back when you could!!. And always put the rather frequent flaming amongst users toward the admin, down to personal grudges and such, it would seem it is just a matter of time before even a benevolent user (albeit admittedly poor at maintaining a ratio) succumbs to the fickle of a single point of power.

I have never intentionally en flamed anyone or directly personally attacked you, that i am aware of.

I find it very in-personable and extremely unprofessional to conduct yourself this way, when we are all in this together. Just banning my account and my IP for that matter.

(dns timeouts on http -lucky i have a dynamic IP - restarted router - just thought the tracker was down until i logged in on my tablet via GPRS to figure it out), and stating, without an offer to discuss - "Ban will never be lifted" on the forum logon screen.

I will be getting a prisonplanet.tv subscription and will rely on public trackers for other tid-bits that my friends and neighbors request.

I wish you all the best in you endeavors and with absolutely no ill-will or malice towards anyone here. Just my choice. And thank you Yeti for getting back to my emails promptly when i figured my mistake out.

You could have solved the matter quite easily by sending a PM or email promising you'd start actually seeding the torrents you download, and I would have gladly restored your account. Instead you make a big deal about how you are leaving because the big evil admin singled you out personally to ban without notice. You're not willing to seed torrents even now, so what good would have providing notice done?

I don't have any sympathy for admitted hit&runners, especially when they whine about being banned for it. I don't know you personally, so to suggest the banning was for personal reasons is ridiculous. You claim that we're all in this together, but you are obviously in it for yourself only. Trying to garner sympathy from the community you've been leeching off for the last 5 years is pretty lame IMO.

BTW, I've wasted many hours over the years PMing and emailing hit&runners attempting to get them to stop. I've NEVER received a reply, for obvious reasons. The only time I get a response is if they're banned, and even then very rarely. Most of them understand the banning and move on.
