ConCen

My share ratio is not good and I have been reluctant to use the con cen tracker for about 4 years as I can not get it up to a respectable level.
I have just changed to a 250 gb / month plan and the shaping that would put me in the basket case department wont be hapening any more.
However the last few files I have downloaded are not uploading at all.
There is a bad data in responce file message that goes away after a little time.
what can I try.
Slow or fast fowarding. More port range? seperate sockets or single?
Help needed!

You will find that older torrents will be downloaded by others a lot less. If you jump on a new torrent, I will be surprised if you don't manage to get your ratio shooting up. I have a max of 45kB/sec upload, and have managed fair ratio, though I upload torrents myself too. I was able to get my ratio up to about 2.50 before I started uploading regularly though.

One thing to note above all else though friend, is that we do not enforce a minimum ratio! So if you aren't able to get it higher as fast as you'd like, don't worry.

One note I'll make is that a decent ratio can be important for getting invited to other private trackers. However, as Dunamis noted, ConCen is very liberal about ratios, one of many points that make ConCen such an amazing site.

Oh, and if you find that a torrent has only one or two seeders, interzone or anyone else, sometimes you can find the exact copy on other sites. Something I'll do from time to time is download it from one site and seed it back to ConCen, which is an additional bonus but is not required for grabbing the copy.
