This is getting to be ridiculous...why all these draconian bills hoisted upon the people at once? Its such an obvious power grab.

It gives the military the power to lock up any and all suspected terrorists, whether captured here or abroad, and hold them indefinitely. Despite empty veto threats from our illustrious president, the bill passed 93-7.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) added in an amendment that guaranteed the current laws on the detention of citizens would stand, and in extreme cases the Supreme Court can decide if an exception would be granted. So at least if you were an American you would be somewhat protected from government locking you up and throwing away the key.

However, all that might be at stake. A new bill has been introduced that will override that amendment by allowing the government, upon suspicion of terrorist activity, to strip you of your citizenship (or naturalized status), disqualifying you from any and all the freedoms provided by the Constitution.

People can come into your home, arrest you, strip you of your citizenship and detain you as long as they see fit because they suspect that you might be doing something they don’t like.

Speechless? You should be.

For the most part Americans have always agreed, that despite party ties, freedom was our main priority. “The land of the free and the home of the brave” was the one sentence everyone in America could count on to describe their country.

But now with the introduction of this new bill, it seems that the “land of the free and the home of the brave” is becoming “the land of the imprisoned and the home of those under suspicion”, which is probably not the future that our framers had in mind when they severed ties with the abusive King George III.

If this bill passes and goes to the President’s desk, the freedom and liberty that separates us from communist and fascist countries with brutal dictators will be in jeopardy. The rights given to us by the Constitution are practically the definition of what it means to be an American, and with our citizenship comes the guarantee that those rights will always be there to protect us.

But now some in our government, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to try and put an end to that freedom, and challenge the very fabric of our democracy by giving the power to revoke individuals national status to the government for having a mere suspicion of someone’s wrong-doings — without judicial review or due process.

Never before in our lifetimes has the government come so close to fully transforming into a dictatorship as it has now. The new defense bill, if coupled with this expatriation bill, makes me shudder at the thought of what else is hiding beneath our soon-to-be king’s well-guarded sleeves.

fuckin´ jackasses. Since I´ve been in MA, I´ve rarely seen Scott Brown come down on the proper side of a bill. It´s as though he asks himself what someone with a conscience would do, and then does the opposite intentionally, even if the right thing fits his own rationality. You should have seen his response to my letter about the NDAA... I erased it simply because I wanted to set the man on fire (of course I´d never do something like that, but a boy can dream, right?) every time I read it, and now I´ve been contacting reps and senators over internet bills like COICA, etc. I get double-speak form letters from this shithead, basically trying to say that what his actual position on the issue does is support the opposite position. It´s absolutely infuriating. I have a feeling he´s not gonna last very long since he´s up against one of the country´s best known consumer advocates, but in the mean time, having to tolerate this man as someone who supposedly ¨represents¨ me is almost as irritating as knowing the he´s ¨reaching across the aisle¨ to fucking Lieberman...

No problem dude, and at least your putting them on notice. Ive seen the same types of responses to emails Ive sent to my representatives. Vacillating, double talking, scumbags is what they are.
At this point its better than just protesting outside. They can ignore those protestors easier than they can ignore their own voting block contacting them directly. Do what you can. Its better than doing nothing.

I do the same with contacting my in-name-only reps many times a week. All I get in response is propaganda bullshit, Orwellian double speak and lip service to the status quo. No matter how many vacuous relies they send, I only keep sending more and more emails with irrefutable logic and appeals to human compassion. Yes I know they have neither but perhaps there will be a spark of humanity in them that this might connect with if we keep up direct contact.

Perhaps all of our voices are making them panic enough to try so many ham handed bills like we have seen lately. I only hope that our voices are loud enough to keep more of this same shit from passing and to repeal the already insane ones that were made "law".

Bills like this beg the question when will people revolt.

Listen, I'm a pussy, haven't been in a fist fight since high school, but I'm not afraid to die. I've had a pretty good life, not perfect, had some problems like anyone but I've eaten some great food, traveled to some beautiful places, had my share of great sex, and have seen about enough from these fucking tyrants.

I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation or not. If it's true, great, I'll come back here and the combustion engine will still be around, women will still look good to me, and there will always be flour, cheese and tomatoes.

What I want to know is. How do I find out where these fucksticks live. These congressmen assholes who keep penning these bills.

These strokes in congress keep writing and voting against us because quite simply, they get away with it. No one is challenging them. No one is scaring them. No one is striking fear in them.

Writing to them, calling them, voting, isn't working. They are laughing at us while sipping their whiskey in their mohagony lined state rooms that we paid for.

These bastards think they are untouchable. They will continue their assault against us as long as no one steps up to them. When citizens start eliminating these usurpers, then and only then they will remember that they work for us, and that we don't work for them.

For a long time I've been thinking of creating a website that shows a picture of the congressman/woman, their voting record, and a photograph of their personal residence and their personal vehicles.

Now, obviously if they are serving their constituents, and not voting for treasonous bills, or penning treasonous bills, like John McCain and carl levin just recently did, then they have nothing to worry about. But with these assholes becoming more brazen against the people who they ate supposed to represent, against the people who pay their inflated salary, people need to stand up to them, and knowing where to find them is a big step to putting a stop to their tyranny.

Or the American people could continue to sit around with their thumbs up their ass and vote even though we know that system has been compromised, and congress and the Feds can continue to usurp their constituents, and we end up like Rome.

People like us are on these forums because we aren't stupid. We know some shady shit is going on. It's all around us now, in the open. Tsa, border checkpoints with agents that have x ray technology, manufactured war, major illegal immigration with nothing being done about it, in fact the Feds and state gov encouraging people to come here illegally, largest national deficit in the history of this nation, mainstream media that is just stringing the sheep along with lies.

The tyrants need to be stood up to. They need to be stricken with fear, or better yet, the worst offenders eliminated as an example and reminder that we are not their slaves.

I'd equal the sentiments, Sovereignman. How is it that people who don't have a lick of concern for humanity manage to get into positions of power? This doesn't apply to every country, obviously, but it's as though people across the globe have been hypnotically induced into giving their rights away.

We see in videos posted here and elsewhere segments where a citizen challenges someone in a position of authority, and then *accepts* being scooted away without getting an answer. No one else backs the person, either, even in cases where freedoms are being stripped away and politicians are being called to question about such matters.

It's an amazing look into the nature of humanity and hives, but it's saddening to see it happening to our fellow humans nonetheless.

It applies to every powerful country, Just look at the City of London. and they get there because they were tapped by the people there before them either through family or business connections. Very true sentiments. I too wonder about things that can be done to change the way these criminals do things by reminding them how small they are.
Someone needs to figure out how to publicly humiliate them like the old days of tarring and feathering. Something that would make them realize that they are not untouchable, but wouldnt land anyone in prison for life or worse. Capturing it on film would make for some of the best viral videos ever.
On another note, Anyone here ever read The Iron Web by Larken Rose? There's a really cool, realistic yet fictional story about a supposed terrorist group thats being set-up by the government and how the government underlings and a new incoming President deal with these "terrorists". Its got some great libertarian political philosophy intertwined in the dialogue as well as a pretty decent storyline, but I dont want to spoil anything so I wont say anymore but it has a great ending and would be like a dream come true if it would happen- and it seems like it would be possible too. I guess thats what makes it so good.

It takes a clear-headed, responsible, individual to keep cool while engaging a person who you know is a flip flopping lying scumbag surrounded by sell out security goons. We need more people like him, that's for sure.

only problem with that is, although there have been many versions of that flag, the most readily available one is yellow... maybe a generate a subdued grey/black version of it on tiger-stripe camo? I also affiliate that particular version of that flag now with glenn beck, the co-opted versions of the tea party movement (a la Koch Bros,) whose followers I wouldn´t necessarily want covering my back. some of them are about as sharp as a bowling ball. All I´m saying is that the swastika used to have much more broad appeal before the nazi party so no one´s really seen it as anything else since. Maybe a welder patching the liberty bell? who knows... food for thought.

and thanks for the book recommendation SiLVa, it actually sounds similar to a book I read a couple years ago now about survival after banking interests destroy the country as we know it, and the focus is a group of survivalists that combined resources to purchase a compound, stores, and weapons, and began training for the possibility of an America without laws long before the collapse. There were some really great suggestions in there... setting up SOP´s before hand so that security could be ensured as soon as necessary, etc.:

I actually have that book in hard copy! Thats also a good book for what its worth. I like the story as well as the informational content.
In the sense that Patriots is part fictional story and part readiness & survival preparation information- The Iron Web is part fictional story and part discussions/dialogue on the philosophies of true freedom and liberty mixed with a lil bit of history- in regards to Waco and other things.
