That like in SD Video (642x352 :: 42mins = 350MB) ...

122.88 mins per GB
125829.12 mins per TB
247611575.5008 mins for 1,967.84 TB

4,126,860 Hours
or 171,952 Days
or 471 years of video

OK let's calculate it for audio?

42 mins of 16 KBps is ~ 5MB so 70x more..

288,880,200 Hours
or 12,036,675 Days
or 32,955 Years of audio

When broken down like that.... this news is just outstanding!
It's so impossible to fathom the lives that this place has touched... Nuts

I'm more then impressed. Great job everyone! Weeee
I knew I'd downloaded more stuff than I'd be able to watch!
There's not enough stuff on ConCen.
Soometimes too much is not enough. Way to go everyone!!!
In relation to there not being "enough"... Wink

Just posted: Solution based tracker material seems lacking...
Heh, thanks Dunamis. Of course, I was being a smart-ass, but I also noted after I posted that it didn't seem to matter how much drive space I've had in the past 30 years - I've always managed to somehow fill it up.

(I've had to move some of my data from my 1.8TB drive to my other drives. I'm such a data whore.)
I know what you mean. I am like a reformed version of the bag lady when it comes to data. Reformed because I am careful these days with what I get, but almost all of what I do get is archived. I am the sort of user, that if I find something good on youtube, no way will I watch it simply streaming I'll instead save the vid right away and also archive it with an nfo file.

The way you see my uploads, with as much applicable info in an nfo file as I can get, well, that's how I these days, treat all things I archive, video, mp3 and pdf's! Sure, it takes time, but if in the future I can maybe get some way to host a lot of this stuff, it'd be great, plus, it wouldn't be too hard to get a database together.
It helps to be organised when one has a considerable amount of data, definitely. I got into the habit of creating such files for large games and apps for a while, but realised since I wasn't distributing any of it (since everyone else had such things already) that I only created them when there was additional info (patches, docs, etc.) as necessary. My file structure is based on Open Directory, which makes organising things a whole lot easier, too.

Culling data's not too difficult, I've found - I cleared up many gigabytes by wiping out most of the David Icke and Alex Jones stuff I had, for instance. [cackles gleefully]
I hear ya. I actually distribute a lot to people without a connection, friends and relatives, and have watched many a thing with people round. It's funny to see the affects of having a documentary on, say Gerson Therapy, Mass Media manipulation or the concept of fractional banking and basic usury, instead of mainstream TV... you often see their brains ticking (either that, or farting Wink).

I backup anything I upload (to fulfil reseed requests), but other than that I am very careful, especially on the big files, single mp3's (rather than audio-books) and I am more brutal these days with pdf's... after 100+ GSXR Compilations and all the other uploads I picked from here, and other places...man, I ended up with about 10,000 ebooks! It was silly.

It's cool though that we all have this ability. Man, it's bloody amazing!

Boredom, for longer than a couple minutes has not happened to me in years, and I am positive concen has helped facilitate that. This place is certainly not a place where your mind can remain inactive...and I love it. Plus, over the past year, as people have slowly got used to the forum, and more post by the day, it's been great to get some really down to earth conversations on the go, friendships forged and information exchanged in a constructive way. Sure, there's still a bit of banter and a laugh or three here and there at each other, but it's unlike any other site I have been on.
GSXR's contributions, as amazing as they are, are certainly The Ultimate Freespace Killer. I have no complaints - there were eBooks I'd never had that I found incredibly informative.

Most I know who are content to watch TV and get their fill of emotional juices look at material offered here as just as entertaining and amusing. I've as a result been somewhat self-centric in applying data I've downloaded to my local paradigm.

1981.10 and counting until the new millennium! (We can all relax with the assurance that there will be no 2K bug, I assume.)
Over 2000 Terabytes (but we'll need 2048 for 2 Petabytes so don't release the balloons, drop the confetti and light the fireworks just yet)!

@FT - And to think that I asked yeti if you could have a bowl of gruel in lieu of soup before you went to your room. This is the thanks I get, pffft@#!!@!

That's not what the hard drive manufacturers say, icosaface. They say that it's in units of 1000, not 1024 like everyone else says.
