I noticed this ridiculous ritual of the crowd repeating what the speakers in NYC were saying, but was told it was because the speakers could not use megaphones. The twerp that's conducting this little kindergarten camp had a megaphone, so WTF?
To be fair, there were quite a few attending that saw through the farce. The sad part is the twerp's job was already done - real people lost interest, leaving nothing but the zombies...
96% of people are ready to be mind controlled and manipulated (unless you constantly nourish and cherish your rebelious and skeptical side IMHO), thanks to the countless hours of tv watching , magazine reading and music listening.
On top of that, there is that innate desire to belong to a group, a family or a society most people have and do succemb to. Belonging to a group provides them with a sense of security and warmth they can not have otherwise, just like a low-intellect animal feels the need to cling to a herd for protection and survival.
Those kind of people (actually most people) are willing to trade common sense, intellectual honesty (example : 9/11 deniers), their intelligence and right to think for themselves, for the privilege of having the illusion of belonging (yes, they do not necessarily do). The thought of being an outcast is a dreadful thought to them, for it reminds them subconsciously of death, which is the ultimate outcast experience (ie : One that has been excluded from a society or system).
The best selling work of Gustave Le Bon (a camembert-eater mind you !!) was :
La psychologie des foules (1895). The English translation is called : "The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind" (1896), you can have it here :
Read about Gustave Le Bon at wikipedia, it seems to me like he was ahead of his time in the field of crowd psychology. Maybe all that cheese-eating did him good after all.
As someone who is not fond of living or being in a group, I think that people with a similar attitude tend to be more real, intense and in touch with their emotions, than ordinary people (I often feel that they are fake without them even being aware of it).

Yes... Well, repeating the words collectively was usually done for that reason, because megaphones really were not allowed.
This stuff is great, just imagine all the power, one mind, one will, one people! How can this be bad?! I always disliked most of the protests because everything is always so non-uniform and disorganized. This is the best thing i saw so far! And yes, i am serious.
Contrary to the mainstream belief under democracy, not all people want to be truly independent. This is why democracy is a lie, people just repeat stuff, which is natural. You have leaders, and you have followers. Most people want to be led, and this is nothing bad, it gives them security.
Different video, same event, no ads: http://vimeo.com/30241942
"Democracy" is a buzz word, a bullshit word, an anchor word intended to trigger a psychological response in the unconscious mind of the stupid serfs that if they opt for democracy and worship democracy, they will led lives without the noose of the elite constantly tight around their necks from the cradle to the grave.
A very seductive lie, so much so that now we have countless sand-niggaz living abroad getting in front of a tv camera in a trance-like state and shouting they want "democracy".
Edward Bernays, a nephew of Sigmund Freud, in his famous book "Propaganda" declared that a major feature of democracy was the manipulation of the mass mind by media and advertising. In other words, democracy is the enslavement of people with their consent while they are smiling. "Freedom", when referred to by the elite, means freedom for the elite to fuck, rampage and enslave everybody and anything.
That sucks, but they are not your masters. Besides, they are more enslaved than people think.
Yes, i agree. It is most obvious around election time, whoever has better ads will win the popular vote. Republic should be different from this, although modern forms are the same democratic nonsense more or less.

See you later, I have to go pay $130. fine because a cop said that I disobeyed a masters' traffic symbol.
What you describe is not democracy, and that is one of the point for being pissed off and protest about it. If masses are easy to manipulate while them believing of being free, than it does not mean a non-democratic Authoritarian regime would be better for them. Democracy is simple, you are free to choose your leaders. There is no denying the system could be abused as it is right now, where people are tricked into believing they have a choice. The root of this corruption is money and greed. That's why people protest and demand a true democracy, where people determine what's best for them and not the elite few who want to enslave them.

After reading the above, I'm still trying to get my jaw off the floor, so I'll try to be as succinct as possible in my reply.
You're either just being a troll, or have learned absolutely nothing about humanity. The only thing you and your type are fit to occupy is the bottom of the ocean.
As i said above, i am serious. All the anarchy when protests escalate may be good if you want to create chaos, but ultimately people need to have some objective and unity in order to defeat their enemy. Unity is the key to victory. Without unity you have nothing.
How about "Join or Die", later changed to "Unite, or Die" from the time of American Revolution:
Sure, they are a bit weird when you look at them, but it is a step towards uniting all those disorganized and lost people. It won't be enough, especially among the crowd which is so sensitive to anything authoritarian, but it is nice to see at least some of them are ready -- and more will join!

You're saying that the alternative to unity is anarchy. Bullshit.
You are saying that some twerp conducting a zombie mind control exercise and using it to prevent people from speaking is unity. Bullshit.

It is not a step towards anything but the neutering of a group of people dedicated to real change.
Did you not see the twerp acting like a spoiled child yelling "Mic check! Mic check!" when people dissented to his muzzling of the Congressman? How is that unity? It's a hijacking. If you fail to see that then there is no hope for you - you're an ideal candidate for cult indoctrination!
I said it before, and I'll say it again - what was captured in that video is creepy creepy stuff.
ConCen is many things, but it is not a cult. If you endorse cult behavior maybe you should find another forum.

I wholeheartedly disagree with a passion with Armilus in his view above but suggesting that he should leave is unproductive. A market of ideas and opinions is better served when diversity is present.
In my opinion : Unity on one hand, diversity, independance of thoughts and expressions of one's uniqueness on the other hand are not mutually exclusive at all. On the contary, they are essential ingredients to a healthy and prosperous unity. Whoever is trying to convince you otherwise is not interested in Unity but rather is interested in the making of zombies and castrating the forces of change.

Holy shit! And because it is not a cult, i many times disagree with you. Is this too much to handle? This fact alone negates cult behavior!!
It is completely natural and logical personal freedom and individuality will suffer when someone is trying to organize masses of people.
Different people have different approaches to that, some of which may look like a cult behavior, especially when a short video is shown, out of context. In similar videos you may see leaders asking people for input, something cults rarely do. Anyone involved can join and leave at will, and all of them have unrestricted access to other sources of information and the outside world. Again, something which would be very detrimental to mind-control cult dynamics, where physical isolation combined with information deprivation are mandatory.
Most people are aware they will get personal freedoms back when the fight or crisis is over. How something appears for a short time may be totally different from the reality of that society.OK, it seems our arguments may be over something which doesn't even exist. Whatever OWS is, it is getting weirder with each passing day. Now they are brainwashing people to accept sex with animals as something normal.
The only one that didn't go as planned was in Iceland. We didn't hear much about that one -- did we?
Now as for the Occupy gatherings themselves, it doesn't matter how they were instigated as long as enough people take it from there, get together as communities, find some common goals, come up with a co-ordinated plan, establish the scope of execution and ultimately do something constructive for themselves, their community, their fellow man and then pass the ball to the next generation to continue building upon that.

Something interesting...
Albert Pike, 1809–1891, 33rd Degree Freemason, Sovereign Grand Commander for 32 years
Quote:“The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the “agentur” of the “Illuminati” between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World.
The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion. We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil.
Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view.
This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.”
You think this is relevant to the events of today? I am still not sure if this is it, or there will be silence again before the next wave of protests starts. In any case it will turn violent, that is for certain.
