An official carbon dating on the Shroud of Turin dates it near the time of the Knights Templar’s fall from glory. Though the image looks like Jesus Christ, many think it could also be that of Jacques De Molay, the Grand Master of the Knights Templar that was tortured by the King of France and burned alive. Before the Shroud of Turin was brought out for the public to see, it was in the possession of the De Charney family, the family of the man that was burned alive next to Jacques De Molay.

this is a theory straight from a book called "The Second Messiah" by Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas.
the guys that wrote the Hiram key series of books and the "Turning the [insert Hiram or Templar] Key " books.
The De Charney Family looked after De Molay after his torture which occurred some years before his eventual burning at the stake for Heresy.
As for it looking like "Jesus"... how the fuck do we know what he looked like?
the only "contemporary" stuff about him is Josephus in the antiquities of the Jews and this was a BIG ass kiss to Rome as he was a turncoat General from the Jewish ranks who tried to further ingratiate himself to the emperor.
Then there's the fact that these have been discovered to be faked and entered at a later date.
the writing style of Josephus does not in any way match the writing style of those entries.
The same analytical process used to identify the different authors of the bibles was used on The Antiquities of the Jews and it was shown to be absolute fake.
what you also have to take into account was the absolutely BOOMING trade in FAKE relics at the time and for a long time there after.
tears of Jesus, blood of jesus..nail clipping of jesus and a whole shitload of others came up... however there were never any body parts proper as Jesus relics as this would pretty well hump the dogma of the church that he was resurrected and bodily went to the heavens.
i could write all day and (k)night on these subjects as they form part of my course at Open University..lol
however i am a tad tipsy.. ok.. maybes two tads and a smidge tipsy as i have been at a birthday meal with my cousin.
however my points are valid and accurate academically and historically .

Okay, let's just say it's genuine, for the sake of argument. Then what? The resurrection is true?
Um...no, because regardless of whether the cloth is 1st century or 12th, the image contained therein shows a living body.
There are over 20 wounds on the body that continued to bleed AFTER the body was wrapped. Corpses don't bleed. In particular, the hand wounds, the side wound, the feet wounds, all continued to bleed after being wrapped - the side wound in particular ran down around the back and POOLED. So the body of whoever was wrapped was NOT DEAD.

But the church wouldn't like this type of speculation going on - especially in light of the "gospel of Peter" which says Jesus was seen leaving the tomb 'supported by two men in white'. Also consider that the Aloes and Myrrh brought to the tomb "of a hundred pound weight" are NOT embalming agents. They are HEALING agents. Jews don't embalm their dead and they don't anoint with aloes and myrrh.

Now THERE'S a can of worms for ya......

Don't mean to sidetrack the topic. ..... carry on! :-)
