Funny...Im actually reading "Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse"
right now. Its the same book actually, I just think one was done by a new publisher so they changed the name a little bit. Almost half-way through it. Very good book with lots of noteworthy tips to take into consideration as well as the fact that you could very well use the book to write out a supply list to prepare yourself. Yet woven into a pretty well written story to keep it interesting I guess. It was recommended to me, and as well, I highly recommend it.
the CURRENT edition (with new cover and also an Index/glossary), which came out just a few months ago is located at http://www.amazon.com/Patriots-Novel-Survi...8839&sr=1-1

This is about the 6th edition if you count the original shareware text compilation he put up back in the bbs days. As for print editions, i think this is the 3rd. And yes, it is with a new publisher, not the old one, Xlibris. They have also signed him for 2 followup books which will be "concurring sequels"
thanks for the post, they have a copy of "Patriots" at my local library! YES!
Waiting for the audio torrent... here is a youtube clip with James... http://www.youtube.com/user/BasicLifeEss...yvOFL6YyDw
I just bought this one the other day, so far seems like a pretty good book to have. This is more a guide book than the Patriots book which was a fictional story along with all the survival info.

Yeah, it seems like I should be doing some prep further than watching old episodes of Survivorman and camping in my backyard. I haven't really invested much in longer term survival due to the daily grind. Thankfully knowledge is relatively cheap for those who know how to get at it so I'll get what I can while I can for my family and I.

Any good advice for winter climates where (heat) energy is essential to survival? I've stocked up spray foam but wood / natural gas may be hard to come by.

What about debt? Is it best to let it ride and max out credit get real goods while cash still has value until inflation accelerates off of the cliff. Is it best to just pay off what I can now for fear of well I don't know what the worst case scenario is really in Canada -- debtors prison, kids taken away? Or a 3rd option of filing bankruptcy before any laws change? I don't really have too many hard assets to lose and I am quite portable atm by design.

Don't be afraid to suggest anything for fear of leading your fellow man in the wrong directions I'm considering all opinions right now and would like all the input I can get and many here seem well tuned and have given this more thought than I.

No, no. no. I have bought now about 20 books in the last 3 weeks. With ADD you know how hard that is to read, lol.

Is this one new or older? New means Amazon and older means saving at the bookstore. Oh screw it, I went ahead and ordered it, lol. Thanks for the referral on this. As usual, I found a few more too, lol.

You all get a chance Apollyon Rising 2012: The Lost Symbol Found and the Final Mystery of the Great Seal Revealed is great.
